Barrel breakdown

  • Heritage

    Distilled at Rabbit Hole.

Known for developing original mash bills rather than relying on traditional bourbon recipes.

  • Maturity

    6 years old.

Enough years in oak to drink now, with room to keep aging if you want more depth.

  • Mashbill

    High Wheat Bourbon

A high wheat bourbon mash bill: 65% corn, 25% wheat, 10% malted barley.

  • Single barrel

    One barrel. One flavor profile.

No blending. No batching. Every bottle from this project comes from this exact cask.

  • Scarcity

    Limited private barrel availability.

Most Rabbit Hole production stays with the distillery's own brands. Private barrel picks are a small, selected slice.

  • Complex flavor

    Exceptional depth, balance & character.

Notes of caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, baking spice, and dark honey — the exact pour is this barrel’s alone.

Bottling this cask

What bottling looks like

You already own the whole cask. Bottling is how it becomes a private release: choose a proof, then glass, closures, and a label with your name on it.

Bottle the entire barrel and bottling is $15 per 750ml bottle, all-inclusive. Want to take some whiskey home and leave the rest in oak? Partial runs start at 48 bottles and are $25 per bottle. The remaining liquid stays in the rickhouse and keeps aging.

We quote production before anything is billed. Nothing is locked in until you approve the quote.

The long game

Keep aging it.

Leave it in the rickhouse. Taste as oak does more work. Bottle when the whiskey — and you — are ready.

Continued aging

What keeping it in wood looks like

Leave the barrel in the rickhouse and let oak keep working. Each year you receive a sample so you can taste the whiskey as it changes and choose the right moment to bottle.

First-year storage is included. After that, continued aging is $100 per year.

When you decide to bottle, full-barrel production is $15 per 750ml bottle, all-inclusive. Or bottle a partial run of at least 48 bottles for $25 per bottle and let the rest keep aging.

Located in Louisville, Kentucky, Rabbit Hole Distillery has emerged as one of the most innovative and respected names in modern American whiskey. Founded in 2012 by Kaveh Zamanian, the distillery was built upon a vision of honoring Kentucky’s bourbon traditions while challenging convention through original mash bills, meticulous craftsmanship, and an uncompromising pursuit of quality. Since its founding, Rabbit Hole has earned widespread recognition for producing bourbons that combine classic Kentucky character with a distinctly contemporary style.

Before entering the whiskey industry, Kaveh Zamanian built a successful career as a clinical psychologist. His fascination with bourbon eventually led him to pursue a new calling, one centered on creating whiskey that reflected both tradition and innovation. Rather than replicating established recipes, Zamanian developed entirely new mash bills and production techniques designed to create bourbons with unique flavor profiles and exceptional complexity. That philosophy remains at the heart of Rabbit Hole today.

Every whiskey produced at Rabbit Hole begins with carefully selected grains, Kentucky limestone-filtered water, and a commitment to precision throughout every stage of production. Distinctive mash bills, thoughtful barrel selection, and carefully controlled maturation combine to produce bourbons known for their elegance, balance, and layered character. The distillery’s willingness to challenge convention while respecting time-honored Kentucky practices has earned it recognition among both critics and bourbon enthusiasts.

Rabbit Hole produces an acclaimed portfolio of premium whiskeys including Cavehill Bourbon, Heigold High Rye Bourbon, Dareringer Straight Bourbon Finished in PX Sherry Casks, Boxergrail Rye Whiskey, and numerous limited releases. Each expression showcases the distillery’s philosophy that every recipe should possess its own distinct identity rather than relying upon a single house style.

The distillery’s striking campus in Louisville’s NuLu neighborhood reflects the same modern philosophy found in its whiskey. Designed with contemporary architecture and advanced production equipment, the facility has become one of Kentucky’s premier bourbon destinations, offering visitors a transparent look into every stage of the whiskey-making process while celebrating both innovation and craftsmanship.

Unlike many distilleries that focus on high-volume production, Rabbit Hole remains committed to producing premium bourbon with exceptional attention to detail. Much of its whiskey is reserved for its own award-winning portfolio, making opportunities to acquire Rabbit Hole barrels for private bottling relatively uncommon. This emphasis on quality over quantity has helped establish the distillery as one of Kentucky’s most respected modern bourbon producers.

Today, Rabbit Hole Distillery represents a new chapter in Kentucky bourbon. By combining innovative thinking with traditional craftsmanship, the distillery has earned a reputation for producing distinctive whiskeys that continue to redefine expectations while honoring the heritage of American whiskey.
